#nicky ricky dicky and dawn fanfiction

just a quick preface, in ANY nicky, ricky, dicky, and dawn fic, blurb, imagine, headcanon, etc that i write, the Harper quads (and their friends/classmates) are ALWAYS aged up to 18. if YOU as the reader are a minor and want to imagine the characters as younger than i’ve written them, that is YOUR prerogative and i can’t stop you cuz i did that sort of shit when i was a minor too, but i’ll always write the quads as at least 18 for a couple reasons:

1. that’s the age they would realistically be in the present day, it was confirmed that the quads were born in 2004 and even though i don’t think it was mentioned in the series, wiki says avery (the one ricky had a crush on in s3) was born in june 2004 and that she has the same birthday as the quads, so realistically, they would have recently turned 18. that’s also *approximately* the same age as the actors irl considering they were all born between may 2003 and april 2004

2. as a newly 19 year old human (my birthday was a few days ago so yay!!) i don’t really feel comfortable in good conscience writing romantic scenarios (which is mostly what i write for NRDD, and just in general) about minors, and ESPECIALLY not if it was smut, which i haven’t written for this series yet but would be down to do if y’all were interested in it. i completely understand if that would gross people out considering they were such young kids during the run of the show but again, if i were to write anything adult for them, THEY WOULD BE WRITTEN AS ADULTS!!! barely legal adults, sure, but i as the writer am barely legal, and i don’t really think that july 2003-june 2004 is a very inappropriate age difference. if you’re like 30 getting off to my posts about 18 year olds, then that’s a problem.

this is also just a general rule for my fics, especially for my smuts. if I’m writing about a character who’s canonically a teenager, like topper thornton who is 16 in OBX or five hargreeves who’s (physically) 13 in TUA, they are ALWAYS aged up to 18. ik this hellsite isn’t near as sensitive, but god the amount of hate i’ve gotten on tiktok for talking about being attracted to and shifting realities for five hargreeves and nicky harper even after i specified that they were adults in my DRs is unreal. like, i literally picture them (especially nicky, who we’ve gotten no recent content of since NRDD has been canceled for 4 years) as the 18 year old version of aidan gallagher that i know and love today. like, aidan is literally just under two months younger than me so i don’t really feel out of line making romantic or sexual remarks about his characters. i try not to sexualize him personally cuz he is a real person and even tho he’s technically an adult he’s still a very young one, but his characters are literally FICTIONAL.

anyway thank you for reading my ramble lmao. as one of my favorite shifttoker’s @/aidanshifts says (gotta give credit where it’s due), adults shifters are going to do adult things. on that note, adult writers are going to write adult things. between quarantine and all the other shit that’s gone down the past couple years, half the time i expect to wake up as a 16 year old high school student again. but i’m a grown woman and a fucking sophomore in college now. i write primarily adult content. if you don’t like that or you’re a minor i respect that and you’re more than welcome to leave my page if it makes you uncomfortable in any way whatsoever. anyway. have a great day y’all and thanks for listening to my bullshit <3
